Elections are here! Sort of. Well, they're not far away...

Hear what some of our former Sabbaticals have to say about being elected representatives.

The Union is delighted to announce the timetable for the upcoming elections. We’re looking for candidates for both full-time Sabbatical positions and Part-time Officer positions. All Officers will take up their posts from 1st July. Take a look at the list below; there may be a role that appeals to you!

If you want to take a year out from your studies, gain some valuable transferable skills and earn £17,606, you may want to consider running for the position of President, Vice President: Student Experience or Vice President: Engagement and Participation. These Officers are responsible for representing the whole of the student body and ensuring that students get the most out of their time at the University. What’s more, the increase in fees next year will mean that the student experience is high on the Union’s agenda, and the Sabbatical Officers and their ability to convey student opinion will be all the more important.

The President and Vice Presidents are assisted by a host of Part-time Officers, who represent particular student groups or interests while still studying. If you want to get more involved with the Union, maybe with a view to running for a Sabbatical position in the future, a Part-time Officer position may be the perfect role for you!

This year, we’d love for every student to be involved; if you don’t want to run for a position, make sure you come along and quiz the candidates at Question Time, look at their manifestos online, and of course vote on 19-21st March!
