International Student Support - Buddy Scheme 2012/13

The Students' Union offers a Buddy Scheme NEW for this academic year. Piloted initially in two schools; Northampton Business School and the School of Science and Technology with a view to expand to all schools in the future.
Buddies, are established current students and aim to support a small group of new International students, offering support during their first year at university and helping them acclimitise to life in England and Northampton.
If you are a new International student commencing a course in Northampton Business School or the School of Science and Technology in September 2012/January 2013 and would like a Buddy; contact Jules Pringle to register onto the scheme (Please provide your full name, contact email,student number and school)

International Students' Officer
The Students Union is run by students, for students and every year, you elect a student to represent all International Students at the University of Northampton. This year you elected Christopher Ibi who is representing YOU from September 2012 - May 2013

Welcome;
My name is Christopher Ibi, a student of M.A. Management Human Resources at Park Campus. The University of Northampton is known for so many outstanding qualities one of which is being a home to many International Students. One of the main reasons I stood for the position of the International Students Officer in the Students’ Union elections is to be a voice for you and act as a bridge between the Students Union and all International Students. I will encourage participation and engagement in all areas of the Student’s Union including the arrangement of events where you will have a chance to integrate with students from different counties and cultures and facilitate an increased involvement with our democratic processes so your voice at Northampton is truly represented.
I have a passion for student life and welcome you all to an exciting time at the University of Northampton. To the old students, it’s going to be a new dawn. To the new students, there will be no dull moments. 2012-2013 will be a year that you will always remember. I wish you every success as you journey into a new phase of your life and career pursuit and I look forward to working with you this year.
