As it says above I am the president of our Students’ Union which exists to represent you! Some of my responsibilities include being the prime representative to the university and sitting on governing council, chairing executive committee, organising elections, setting targets for the year and the list goes on. I’ve been involved in the union the whole time I’ve been in Northampton. It started off drinking in the bar (a lot) then I was involved in campaigning during the elections, I then worked as security at the union, became a part-time officer and now President so I’ve come up through the ranks so I’m the best position to help us move forward. On a personal level I’m usually a pretty happy person! I smile all the time through good times and bad, I’m pretty easy to talk to and very outgoing. I’ve had the most amazing time here at Northampton and met the most amazing people. I’ve done the craziest things while here like playing “yes man” (like the film) on a Sunday night and ending up stranded in Birmingham, with no way of getting home and nowhere to stay! Don’t worry there was a happy ending.I’d just like to take this opportunity to once again welcome you to the University of Northampton, and to let you know that the Students’ Union will be here for you from beginning to end and a little bit more.

My university experience has been nothing shorter then amazing and unforgettable moments. Meeting new people can be challenging, however the trick is to ignore what i call “the scared you”! Don’t forget that the majority of students are in the same situation as you. Throw yourself into the deep end; you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. The best advice that I was given before going to university was to join some sort of group whether it’ll be a club or a society. Being part of a team has defiantly been brilliant and played major part of university experience. Before i forget let me tell you about my role as Vice President. My role divides into two parts, Education which deals with all academic related issues that you might face. The other part is Welfare related and deals with a whole ranch of sexual health awareness campaigns as well as highlighting health advices. In a nutshell I AM HERE TO HELP!!
Vice President: Student Development

I’m one of 3 full time sabbaticals that represent the membership (that’s you) and we also lead the direction of the Students’ Union. My role entails an array of different things, such as, Student Activities, Northampton Student Media, Hall Representatives, and Union Developments , Fresher’s Fair, and much more. In the simplest terms I do everything that isn’t academic (that’s Abdi’s job).
On a more personal level I’m friendly, easy going, open minded, approachable, and very talkative; and at the end of the day I’m a socialite. I’ve been part of the Students’ Union and the University of Northampton for the last 4 years, I’ve had the best times of my life here.
I’ve met and made loads of friends that I’m honoured to know and some of my best experiences happened on campus in my first year. I’ve done a great number of things that I don’t regret, I’d do it all over again, within a blink of an eye (yep, that’s how good it is). I made the most of what I had and the most important thing for me was the people around me; that’s what made it an unforgettable experience. I’ve swapped benches, my flat in the first week of fresher’s had a food fight with the top floor flat and for the whole year the corridor smelt like rotten eggs (please act responsible in halls).
Please remember no matter what you study or do that the University of Northampton Students’ Union is with you every inch of the way you are our boundaries and limitations and the opportunities are endless together.
Much love and I’ll see you out there...
